Mission and History
Julia F. Thompson, Inc., a Texas nonprofit corporation, is a tax-exempt,
Section 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The corporation was
established to solicit and distribute funds for educational and
charitable projects. We recognize more than ever that learning is a

We support reading programs at the elementary school level, and math and science programs at the middle and high school levels. We provide scholarships to help college students so that they may pursue further academic endeavors. We also support charitable and scientific projects of other organizations that qualify as exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code.
The corporation is named after Julia F. Thompson, a dedicated servant and leader in the Fort Bend community. In 1986, the first scholarships were given in her honor to highlight achievements of students in the Fort Bend and Houston Independent School Districts. In honor of Julia F. Thompson, JFT was established in 1997 to continue her legacy of service to the community. Julia’s lifestyle, career and outreach exemplified the motto, “Service to All Mankind”. Julia believed that education is an open door to greater opportunities...more
